Polka Dots are not a pattern I favor. There is something about the precise and predictable layout that made me a little uneasy. If there is a word that friends and family would use to describe me, predictable would be far from it. However, I’m always up to a challenge and introspective work. So, I decided to try and understand (even relate) to the annoyingly tidy pattern.

For the one-thousandth time in my life, I was wondering what to do with it and also knee-deep in putting Christmas decorations up (by color and size order of course). It is my MOST favorite time of year, therefore takes up the majority of my storage. Friends and family have long been saying I should do organization and some kind of design for a living, but I chalked it up to a hobby. Plus, my life is one wild project or adventure after another. Along with adventure, I have an obsession with highlighters, planners, and label makers. Regardless, here came the self-reflecting, familiar question… What do you like to do? Amid a frustrated thought of, can it just be Christmas all year and feeling like life was just a mess – it came to me…

i am like a messy polka dot

So, here we are! When deciding to take on a blog adventure, I wanted to make sure it was relatable to real life. Inspiration is helpful and sparks great ideas, but we can easily get in a tailspin trying to make our life look a certain way, all the while it’s not working in the best way. Take a look around, find some inspiration, ask for some help, get some tips. After all, life is just one messy polka dot after another and it can all end up looking be pretty darn sweet.

Much love and gratitude,

About Me

Creative projects, organizing, & challenging messes are all things I’m passionate about. It’s common to find me getting into a mess of some sort, but there’s always been a way out! With a background in dance theater and behavioral health, taking care of your mind and body (and space!) can lead to a successful and fulfilling life! Messes that bring me joy are gardening, cooking, and being creative. I truly believe there is so much simplicity in the messy parts of life if we just take some time to find it.
